At the end of this training programme theapprentices should be able to:

·        Install, electrical wiring and related equipment in houses, industrial and commercial establishments and other buildings

·        Examines electrical wiring systems and electrical equipment such as switches, switch boards, motors, starters, and other electrical devices

·        Maintains and repairs electrical wiring and related equipment in buildings

·        Locates faults with the help of wiring diagrams and testing instruments

·        Examine drawings and specification

·        Installs and repairs household electrical appliances such as: heaters, stoves, washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, irons, toasters, micro wave ovens, fans and other electrical devices

·        Selects positions and fixes distribution boards, fuse boxes, switches, light and power point, cuts bends and installs sheeted cables

·        Rewind burned coils, if required with coil winding machines

·        Overhauls, repairs and motifies equipment in use with required skill and competence

·        Dismantles or partly dismantle equipment if necessary

·        Diagnoses faults with the help of testing equipment

·        Make connections and new electrical installations observing the I.E.E.

·        Cleans and maintains electrical motors according to maintenance specifications

Prepares and keeps maintenance programmes records of overhauls, servicing, and completed maintenance indicating the work carried out and the next due date as per
